10 Things I Miss About Ry

  • His big smile that greets me when he comes home
  • The way he makes dinner when I'm too busy to do it myself
  • Snuggling
  • I miss hearing him sing in the shower in the morning
  • Our evening and morning walks together
  • Our silly conversations that only make sense to us
  • Watching him walk around the house with head phones in while listening to the lastest book he's obsessed with
  • Hearing him tell me about his next BIG IDEA (I swear it changes ever month... no joke I love it)
  • I miss him making me go to bed early.. hence I'm still up right now.
  • The way he acts like my own personal furnace at night when our house is FREEZING.

I MISS YOU RYAN!!! Only 3.5 weeks left of my seperation anxiety and then we'll get to be together all the time again. Oh, Happy day!

Tahoe November 2009

I love how making smores in the hotel room fire place is our idea of camping!

So, Ryan and I needed a little get away. Of course one of our favorite places, ever since we spent our honeymoon there, is Lake Tahoe. We had a blast roasting marshmallows in our hotel room (that's my idea of camping), walking on the beach & taking fun pictures, shopping, going to our favority pizza place, and ice skating. Ryan and I stopped at our favorite pizza place and Ryan ate like a King! He man handled that pizza and it was nearlly gone by the time I finished my one slice. Ice skating was fun too, the rink wasn't too busy but everyone that was there was with their families. I love that. It was so nice to be there during the off season; everything was so quiet and peaceful. The Lake... Beautiful... need I say more?!

Life is crazy, But we keep LOVIN IT!

So.. Ryan and I are living apart during the weeks still, but thankfully that will all come to an end in about 6 weeks! I can hardly wait :) One plus is that our weekends are always a lot of fun and we make the most of the time we do have together. We are adjusting to owning our first home. We are realizing how much taxes, utilties and the most shocking was how much out water bill costs! Ouch! We are definately still loving it. Coming from our little studio apartment in San Jose, our house feels HUGE, and we have a lot of empty walls and space to fill. But, as Ryan continues to remind me when I feel an urge to buy a nice dining table, or whatever else, that we are not in any hurry to fill in these empty gaps. Amazing how different men and women are sometimes....

Anyways, this past weekend Ryan and I had a blast hanging out with Shawn, Brittany and friends. Ryan and I dressed up as a couple from the past. I am 80's and I think Ryan would fall somewhere in the 70's era. We found our costumes at the DI for super cheap. When I saw the puff sleeves I knew i needed to have that dress, and Ryan's Fro, (we borrowed it from my dad) completed his costume perfectly. Enjoy the pics!

Summer and then Some '09

This Summer was an absolute blast and tons of crazy things have happened. First, Ryan and I moved from San Jose to good old Elk Grove. Ryan is working in Sacramento and loving it! We lived with my parents during the summer months while we were house shopping and what do you know, the first house I go to see I fell in love with. We have been living in our new home for a little over 3 weeks now. I can hardly believe we have bought our first house! it's been fun, Ryan is becoming mr. handy after a full summer of helping my Dad and his random projects around the house: building a shed, replacimng a fence, painting the house, relandscaping the back yard... and then some:)
OTher fun summer adventures included our short trip to carmel and monterey. We went for our 2 year aniversary and had a blast kyaking in the monterey bay. As for the catipillar picture, we found him spinning in crazy cirlces on our way to the Carmel By the Sea beach and so, and he was a pretty memorable catipillar so he made the blog page. Ryan and I also went to Hemet to visit his family for a week in August. We had a blast, unfortunately we forgot to bring the camera (hence no pics). It was a ton of fun hanging out with the family. We were able to hang out with Dallin, Ryan's brother, who had just come home from his mission. It was funny, but then not, when Dallin got a super bad sun burn when we went to a water park in Palm Springs. We should have known his skin wasn't ready for 115 degree summer heat when it hasn't seen the sun in 2 years! It was cute, Kimara busted out a home rememedies book and was throwing a corn starchy watery gue onto Dallin to help with the burn.
Ryan and I are loving life and staying busy and we hope that fun adventures ahead!

BiG sUR!!!!!

For Ryan's Birthday, we finally headed down to see Big Sur. The whole trip was absolutely breath taking. The only down side was that all of the hikes were closed due to the damage from the Fires last year. So, we didn't get to explore as much as Ryan would have wanted, but I guess that just means that we'll have to head back at some later time to get the full experience. Here are a few pictures that we took while we were there.

CarMel BY thE SeA

We had a blast watching the sun set on the beach. This was has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in all of California. We had an eventful day which consisted first of getting lost. Go figure when Ryan is the one driving :). We also went shopping, saw a Catholic mission in Carmel, and completed the day with the beautiful sunset. It was so funny, while we were at the beach, a seagull came up and stole my sandwich so I only had half of my dinner and the seagulls all fought over the other half. It really was crazy how it happened. Ryan and I also found a HUGE sand crab along the shoreline. We had soooooo much fun, but the second that sun was gone we were freezing and couldn't wait to get into the car.

Day Trip to Monterey January 2009

SO Ryan and I went to MOnterey last Friday adn had a BLAST!!! We went to the aquarium first, had a bite to eat at a little cute cafe, took a tandum bike out for a ride, AND of course we stopped at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some Caramel Candied Apples. The apples were amazing to say the least. I love living in the Bay area because everything is so close to us. It was nice to be able to go to Monterey and come back home the same day.
